The convenor of the meeting, Steven Burgess, asked for nominations for the chair of the meeting, none were provided and a motion that Steven continue as chair for the time being was carried without opposition. No nominations were received for secretary.
ACTION:-
Steven will revisit the notion of electing a democratically elected chair and secretary upon receiving a motion requesting that we do so or at 6 monthly intervals.
Attendees were encouraged to leave phone and contact details and join the B&B 4 JC watsapp group so communications would be faster several were invited into the watsapp group on the day. A URL was provided that linked to a discussion forum where social media and other minimal censorship and tactically seperated dicussion fora including one with collaborative editing could be found.

Nominations for social media were requested, and two additional interim social media coordinators were nominated and agreed, Stella and Jade.
A subsequent meeting of B&B4JC was agreed for September 11th at 5pm.
Some speakers were suggested for the meeting including Steve North and Maxine Peake.
ACTION:-
Bev Costello agreed to invite them to speak.
Some confusion was visible that the political acronyms and Labour party structures being spoken about were confusing. Stella agreed to email Steve with a printed newbies guide to the labour party. Steve explained that Several ward Branch Labour PArties normally Sent delegates to a Constituency Labour Party meeting and that these CLP groups made most local decisions and that nationally a 33 member NEC generally makes decisions including 6 representatives voted for by all members, 12 representng the trade unions, 4 controlled by the leader of the party and several others representing other, smaller elements of the Labour party.
There was a query from a Rossendale person who hadnt been able to contact her local labour party since joining. Several pieces of advice were given and suggested contacts.
Alice requested a simplified list of policies to show local people and local groups Jeremy's acheivements.
ACTION:-
Alice, Kay Phillips and Sarah Davies agreed to organise this and send it to Steve who would distribute it to the rest of the group.
B&B actions were discussed. B&B is a local action group, but some support for national campaigns in support of Jeremy was discussed. John Merry stated that Alex Hallighan would be arranging phone banking in support of Jeremy Corbyn leadership campaign. it was highlighted that Momentum And Jeremy for Labour campaigns were both in progress.
Action:-
John Merry agreed to supply contacts for phone banking to Steve who would distribute to the group.

Steve then moved to local activity, re-emphasising the importance the communications.
Steve described the local taken CLP decisions that affected Jeremy's position.
1) NEC nominations
2) Parliamentary trigger ballots
3) Parliamentary Selections
4) Rule changes
5) leader nominations
6) conference delegate nominations
Steven argued that the local CLP at least appeared to be a fair warm and open place and that unlike some constitencies there appeared to be no need to battle to open up or repair the functionality of the CLP or most of the branches.
He highlighted that this meeting was held shortly after 1) and 4) and 6) had taken place, and that these had gone fairly well with John Merry a Corbynite member, elected as the CLP's delegate to conference and that these things required long term work in support of the CLPDs pioneering work for rule changes.
ACTION:-
Steven will open up at the next meeting:-
1) rule proposal and
2) NEC nomination work
3) Discussion of upcoming Rule changes with John Merry, the B&B delegate at subsequent meeting.
There was significant discussion on the confusion surrpounding who was allowed to take part in the upcoming nomination meeting in August.
ACTION:-
Steven will clarify this with Martin Connolly, CLP secretary and publish the response to the watsapp group and email list.
Steven described how with Graham Stringer's opposition to the coup against Corbyn, there wasn't any urgent need to change our MP but that rumours had been around for a long time that Graham might retire and that we needed to be ready for a candidate selection process.
ACTION:-
Steve agreed to call additional urgent meetings for everyone together if there were urgent local motions or other significant votes coming up at the local CLP or BLPs, for example a vacancy for the constituencies parliamentary candidate.
Steven described an extensive and growing list of Corbynite activists in the North West to allow people to contact others in their own constituencies but focussed most specifically on Blackley and Broughton.
ACTION:-
Steve agreed to maintain and grow this contact list to include all B&B branches and Corbynite contacts.
There was a brief discussion about the value of becoming a momentum branch. Some thought it better to be an informal group instead.
ACTION:-
Steven will open a full discussion of this possibility at a subsequent meeting.
