An awesome meeting of somewhere around 45 people. MP and mayoral candidate in attendance both great people.
i brought up several points, most prominent among them the need to thoroughly define what momentum is specifically in the momentum point 5 on how many of these policies a person must endorse to be a supporter or member and the core question of if deselection campaigns are officially or just unofficially outside the purpose of momentum.
Lots was said, too much and too fast for me to catch a decent set of meeting minutes. But the atmosphere was open, warm, decent and enthusiatic. That said there was a LOT of duplicated discussion about how bad the tory cuts were thats been said right across the country, and insufficient discussion of structures and tactical analysis.
A clarifying point about where salford momentum covers was discussed- salford momentum branch is branch that covers the entire city of salford, including 3 seperate consituencies including a part of the blackley and broughton constituency. Some work needs to be done here to demonstrate where people's applicable momentum branch can be found 1) online 2) geographically.
There must be a case for an "unofficial momentum map of britain" on this forum to help that occur.
This felt like a promising start to Salford momentum.
I'm very glad i attended.
Steven.
