Kelvin Hopkins is a Campaign for Labour Party Democracy Liason to the Parliamentary Labour Party.
Some activists in British politics have repeatedly lied about the left wing to deprive them of credibility. These people have repeatedly worked with and been amplified by the right wing media, who last year made the Ken Livingstone story a huge headline. Ken is still even now, suspended in processes identified as unreasonably slow by the Chakrabarti report.
Do we even allow for the possibility that the timing of the as yet unproven Bex Bailey allegations have been preplanned to coincide with the timing of the as yet unproven allegations against a heroic democratic activist such as Kelvin? It clearly would be a conspiracy theory. But would even considering that possibility be necessarily a sexist and insensitive thought? Or should we not only support and protect Bex Bailey purely on the grounds that she is an alleged victim, but also beleive, a priori, that she is telling the truth?
And if so, why?
Do we always have to wait for a judicial and police investigatory process which never once prosecuted British government war criminals to investigate in a supposedly neutral manner?
And if the resurgence of the antiimperialist wing of the labour party threatens existing warmongers, why would they not engage in such smear tactics to marginalise key left wing activists and MPs?
