I beleive that in this CLP i offer unparalleled awareness of the national struggle to democratise the Labour party machinery. I therefore beleive that Jeremy Corbyn needs me to be there in Brighton working with the Campaign for Labour Party Democracy, pro Corbyn NEC members and with the other delegate(s) to rally support for a truly representative democratic Labour party and against antidemocratic manouvres, structures, purges and smears of the kind seen in Wallassey and Brighton. I'm already attending the CLPD AGM this coming month.
I was the proposer of a motion ratified by the BLP and CLP in the last year including a proposed change to the rules to allow the CLP to propose both a contemporary motion and a constitutional amendment about 9 months ago. I was also the initiator of activity in November that led to another motion highlighting the abusive rule violation by the platform party at conference which led to the hijack of the NEC and the watering down further of CLP representation at the NEC. I was also the founder of the rigorously democratic local Blackley and Broughton for Jeremy Corbyn Group and a member but a critic of momentum.
If elected as the delegate to conference, I will post at least daily updates to all BLP and CLP and BB4JC secretaries and here.
If elected as delegate I will use both very cheap transport (megabus/coach) and hostel level accomodation or activist friends in the area to reduce the costs of sending me there to below £150 for what i expect to be a 3/4 night stay at Brighton. As such i not only represent optimal efficacy and reporting, bust also optimal financial efficiency.
As i understand it, the Broughton BLP chair mistakenly declared there would be only one female CLP delegate to national conference this year meaning my branch didnt nominate a male delegate, but the growth of the membership means there can be a second candidate. Id therefore appreciate any nominations, seconders, endorsements or votes i receive. I am looking for the best delegate for the CLP here, but currently beleive I am that best person. However if I beleive any other male CLP candidate or two female candidates can do better than I can in terms of awareness, effectiveness, reporting, participation with the CLPD machinery and cost, I will promptly withdraw my candidacy. Please feel free to contact me in any way you like on here by private message if you feel you can endorse me or have any queries about my candidacy.
