LABOUR HIJACKED BY
OUTGOING NEC CHAIR AT CONFERENCE
ANN BLACK, THE MOST POPULAR NEC MEMBER REPRESENTING CLPs RECOGNISES CONCERNS ABOUT RULE VIOLATIONS DESIGNED TO CAPTURE LABOUR NEC FIXING ARE BOTH “LEGITIMATE” AND “SERIOUS”
At conference, there were several deceptions and at least one rule violation used to unlawfully capture the labour party by the pro war & tacitly pro austerity wing of Labour. Paddy Lillis, the conference chair at the time, denied a card vote on the floor of conference. This can be seen on the Tuesday morning conference video. This is a violation of Chapter 3 clause 3 rule 3 of the labour party rules 2016. This violation can be viewed on the Tuesday morning video of conference which is still visible on the Labour party youtube channel at exactly 31:20 to 34:40 at which point Paddy seeks to explain his violation. At 43:55, a delegate rises to explain the rule violation which just occurred and then again in further detail 48:15. Watch this at bit.ly/2fjvUsa including a long serving NEC member, Christine Shawcroft, rising to the stage to assert that a card vote must be taken.
The effect of the rule is to add two Blairite members from scotland and Wales to the NEC, meaning that the corbynites who controlled approximately 40% but were set to control 50% after a huge vote in favour of EVERY left slate NEC representative in June Corbynites now therefore will only enjoy 48 % control again and therefore NOT be able to stop the purges and other illegitimate moves to select warmonger MPs and fix internal leadership elections including denying people the vote they had been promised.
Brecon CLP has now heroically condemned this move and details about this can be found on bother the Vox political blog and the Skwawkbox blog. The motion passed states clearly that due to the NEC being corrupted in this manner, Brecon has recolved that it is no longer bound by NEC decisions.
Several other CLPs are in the process of moving similar resolutions including Lewes CLP. Contact The Word newspaper if you’d like to participate in this struggle to rectify the corruption of the NEC or have any further information on it.
There is evidence provided by Vox Political and Skawkbox that the CAC was misled by party staff and therefore misled conference when they announced that the NEC had agreed that several rule changes including the NEC fix rule change and several other rule changes that had been hard won would be voted on as a single block of rule changes.
Ann Black, the most popular elected NEC member in the recent CLP NEC elections acknowledged recently on the Vox political blog that these concerns were serious and legitimate. But that isnt enough. Until MANY CLPs reject the new NEC like Brecon has, its abusive rule will go unchallnged and Corbyn will be vulnerable to its attacks.
There is an anonymous, minimally censored discussion of this article ongoing. Thanks to Vox political and Skwawkbox for their work on highlighting this
